Former President Trump increased his criticism of opponent Harris on immigration, saying she should resign or be impeached.
“Kamala Harris is the source of illegal immigration. It is the most serious crime problem of this era. She should resign or be impeached,” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump posted on the social network Truth Social on September 28.
During an election campaign in the city of Erie, Pennsylvania a day later, the former US president announced that “hundreds of people have been killed” because of Ms. Harris’s actions on the border issue, and warned that thousands will soon suffer the same fate. “She should be impeached and prosecuted,” he said, but did not provide evidence for his statement.

The comments were made after US Vice President Kamala Harris visited the border in Arizona on September 27.
When asked to comment on this statement, Ms. Harris’s campaign reiterated previous statements about immigration and criticized her Republican opponent.
“Donald Trump has done nothing to fix the ineffective immigration system, failing to address the shortage of immigration judges and border agents during his four years as president. Trump did not create legal pathways for migrants to reach the United States, doing nothing to address the outdated asylum system or coordinate with other governments to solve the migration problem, which is a regional challenge,” she said. Harris said in Arizona.
The US Vice President is seeking to build an image as a candidate with a tough stance on the border situation, while also criticizing Mr. Trump for causing the bipartisan bill on this issue to not pass.
“Trump doesn’t want to solve the problem. He talks big things about border security, but doesn’t take action. Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to pass the toughest border security bill in decades century, but Trump obstructed it because he thought that action would help him get elected,” the US Vice President said during an election campaign in Nevada state in August.
Former President Trump once declared that the US had experienced “the most serious border crisis in world history” in nearly 4 years and accused Vice President Harris of “causing destruction”.
