Poll results show that Trump’s deputy – Harris received the same approval rating after the debate was rated as “positive”.
Senator JD Vance, Republican vice presidential candidate, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Democratic vice presidential candidate, debated live on CBS on the evening of October 1 on topics such as immigration, economics, the Middle East crisis, reproductive rights and gun ownership.
Analysts from both parties said that Mr. Vance appeared more confident, courteous and better prepared than his opponent in their first and only debate.
However, a quick poll conducted by CBS/YouGov with 1,630 voters watching the debate showed that the support rate for the two candidates was equal, with 42% of people saying JD Vance would prevail and 41% choosing Walz. . 17% of respondents rated the two candidates as a tie.

88% of survey participants said that the tone of the confrontation between the two deputies was “generally positive”, different from the debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris on September 10.
The majority of both candidates’ answers were rated as “reasonable” rather than “extreme”.
The candidates’ support rates skyrocketed after the debate, 9 percentage points for Vance and 7 percentage points for Walz.

CNN’s snap poll conducted with 574 voters who watched the debate also showed a very close result. 51% of respondents thought Vance performed better and 49% favored Walz. Before the debate, 54% of voters thought Walz would outperform his Republican opponent.
According to CNN’s poll, candidate Vance defended his running mate better than Tim Walz, with results of 37% and 33% support, respectively. 27% of respondents said the two candidates were tied on this issue and 3% said neither one did well.

48% of people think Tim Walz is closer to the middle class in America and 35% side with JD Vance. The Democratic candidate also leads in the question of who shares a better vision of America with 48%, compared to 39% for the Republican candidate.
Only 1% of voters who watched the debate said the performance of the two candidates changed their choice in November’s presidential vote.
