Jinju is located in a very convient place where you can access to the sea in an hour. If you want to go hiking, you can access to Jiri Mountain, the second highest mountain in South Korea, in an hour, too. In other words, you can go to the sea or mountain at any time very easily. Younger people may not like to live in Jinju because residents seem to be a little conservative. Jinju citizens are very polite and they want to keep the Korean tradition, which makes younger people decide to live in big cities.

All one needs is a bachelors degree. You don’t even need a TESOL certification, but it wouldn’t hurt to have one as it might increase your pay package slightly. If you’re looking for any job outside of English teaching, editing, proofing, text book creation, etc, then it would be harder to get a job unless you have impressive qualifications. One has to be able to prove that he or she is more qualified than a Korean citizen to do the job in order to get it. I do have a German friend who is piano teacher at one of the universities here, but he is obviously very qualified and, interestingly enough, many Korean music students spend time studying music in Germany. So again, specialization comes into play.
